Job summary

River Oaks Country Club is seeking a Director of Wine & Beverage to lead all beverage operations across front-of-house and back-of-house areas. The role requires establishing service standards, training teams, and delivering exceptional dining and social experiences for members.

The ideal candidate will have extensive wine knowledge, event programming experience, and a strong leadership presence. This senior position supports the Club Manager and collaborates with the Wine Committee to elevate

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in beverage operations.
Strong knowledge of beverage operations, wine programs, wine cellar management, purchasing, and inventory management.
Experience creating and executing wine-focused member experiences including wine dinners, tastings, educational events and vineyard partnerships.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with strong attention to detail and proofreading ability.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on event needs.

Responsibilities

Manage, lead and inspire the Beverage Department throughout the employee life cycle.
Plan and communicate Beverage programming for the Club.
Assess staff performance to departmental standards.
Develop operating and labor budgets and achieve results.
Forecast Capital Expenditures and related data.
Plan wine events with Wine Committee and members.
Collaborate with vendors and distributors for wine programs.
Act as ambassador for the Club and Wine Committee at events.
Oversee beverage training and education across outlets.
