TEKsystems is seeking a Windows Server Automation Engineer in Plano, TX for an 18‑month contract. The role focuses on building a highly automated Windows provisioning environment, leveraging Packer and CI/CD to create and deploy images.

Requires deep Windows Server expertise, Ansible-driven config management, and strong PowerShell development. You will work with OpenShift, VMware, Azure, and Git-based tools, contributing to upgrades and template-driven server provisioning in a bank environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years Windows Server 2022/2025 experience.
• 5+ years PowerShell development.
• 4+ years Ansible experience and Windows automation.
• 2+ years HashiCorp Packer, Chocolatey.
• GIT, Artifactory knowledge; experience with Azure cloud.
• Terraform familiarity; Linux scripting welcome.

Position: Windows Server Automation Engineer

Number of Positions: 1

Locations: Plano TX

Duration: 18 months

Shift: 3 days onsite and 2 days remote

Technical Requirements

• Core Skills: Deep expertise in Windows (Server 2022/2025).
• Automation: Ansible (primary), PowerShell (Windows), and HashiCorp Packer (image creation).
• DevOps/Tools: Familiarity with Agile, Git (Bitbucket/GitHub), Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Tecton).
• Cloud/Containerization: Experience with VMware, OpenShift, and public cloud (Azure).

Additional Information

• The manager is looking for a Windows Server Engineer that has experience with designing, building, and testing automated Windows OS provisioning for Internal Cloud. This resource will be assisting with the Windows upgrades for the remaining part of the year and into next year.
• Resource needs experience with Ansible and Windows Server 2022-2025
• Not looking for Admin experience but more Engineer experience in being able to engineer the solution.
• Need resources to be able to write code, and as they use templates for server provisioning, in which they need to know how the template is created etc.
• Since they use HashiCorp Packer (helps to automate the creation of machine images) in the bank’s environment, they would prefer someone have experience with that as well.

The Windows Server Build Automation Engineer is responsible for developing a next generation, highly automated server build environment, leveraging HashiCorp Packer and CI/CD pipelines to automate image creation and deployment. This senior role requires deep expertise in Windows Server OS components, Windows server automation, Ansible-driven configuration management, and extensive PowerShell development, along with strong proficiency in GIT, JSON-based web services, and modern DevOps tooling such as JIRA and agile delivery frameworks. The engineer will work independently and in distributed teams to gather requirements, design and test new service offerings, document solutions, and transition them to operational support.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $73.68 - $73.68/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
