Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Windows Platform Engineer to support enterprise IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and network operations within a large-scale DoD environment. The role is 100% onsite in Norfolk, VA, Honolulu, HI, or San Diego, CA, and focuses on administering, securing, and maintaining Windows Server environments.

The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of Windows Server experience, STIG compliance, and an active Secret clearance, plus Security+ certification.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in Windows Server environments or enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, patch management, IAVA remediation, STIG compliance, and vulnerability mitigation.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Active Secret Security Clearance required.
• Current Security+ certification required.
• Ability to work an afternoon/evening shift, Tuesday through Saturday.

Responsibilities

• Perform Windows Server patching, vulnerability remediation, and security compliance activities across enterprise environments.
• Build, configure, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 systems.
• Support the full infrastructure lifecycle, including installation, configuration, monitoring, upgrades, maintenance, and decommissioning.
• Execute STIG remediation activities and ensure systems maintain compliance with security and operational standards.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve issues and improve system reliability and security.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience considered

This position is 100% onsite in Norfolk, VA,Honolulu, HI, or San Diego, CA. The Windows Platform Engineer will support the administration, security, compliance, and reliability of enterprise Windows Server environments. Compensation for the Windows Platform Engineer include:

Salary Range: 95,000-100,000 depending on experience
