Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Windows Platform Engineer to support enterprise IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and network operations within a large-scale Department of Defense environment. This 100% onsite role is in Norfolk, VA, Honolulu, HI, or San Diego, CA.

You will administer, secure, and ensure the reliability of Windows Server environments while collaborating with internal teams and vendors to maintain mission-critical infrastructure for a secure enterprise network.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in Windows Server environments, enterprise infrastructure, or systems administration.
• Experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022 patch management, IAVA remediation, STIG compliance, and vulnerability mitigation.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Engineering, Business, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Active Secret Security Clearance required; current Security+ certification required.
• Ability to work an afternoon/evening shift, Tuesday through Saturday.

Responsibilities

• Perform Windows Server patching, vulnerability remediation, and security compliance activities across enterprise environments.
• Build, configure, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 systems.
• Support the full infrastructure lifecycle, including installation, configuration, monitoring, upgrades, maintenance, and decommissioning.
• Execute STIG remediation activities and ensure systems maintain compliance with security and operational standards.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve issues and improve system reliability and security.

This position is 100% onsite in Norfolk, VA,Honolulu, HI, or San Diego, CA. The Windows Platform Engineer will support the administration, security, compliance, and reliability of enterprise Windows Server environments. Compensation for the Windows Platform Engineer include:

Salary Range: 95,000-100,000 depending on experience
