Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to manage enterprise telephony and IT infrastructure in Maryland. The role covers Windows/Linux servers, VMware environments, and telephony platforms such as Avaya and WFO/WFM.

The candidate will ensure high availability, patch management, and security compliance while coordinating with security teams. This on-site position requires US citizenship, an active secret clearance, and 7+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance required.
• US Citizens only due to contract.
• 7+ years of systems administrator or systems engineering experience.
• Experience with Windows/Linux Server environments (installation, patching, troubleshooting).
• Experience with telephony platforms (Avaya, call recording, WFM).
• Experience with VMware ESXi/vCenter (installation, upgrades, troubleshooting).
• Networking experience (IPv4/IPv6, ports, protocols).
• Active Directory and Group Policy administration experience.
• Security vulnerability remediation and validation experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support enterprise telephony systems across programs, including hardware, software, peripherals, and call apps (WFO/WFM, CMS, call recording).
• Install, configure, operate, monitor, and maintain enterprise infrastructure (web/app servers, telecom hardware).
• Install, configure, troubleshoot telephony systems, Windows/Linux servers, network connectivity, and LDAP/AD integrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement telephony solutions for high availability and security compliance.
• Apply regular and emergency patches to Windows/Linux servers to maintain security.
• Perform system upgrades and migrations with planning, testing, and execution.
• Conduct regular system health checks and preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate with security teams to address audit findings and remediations.
• Other tasks as assigned.
