Job summary

Fannie Mae is seeking a Windows Engineering Manager to lead the enterprise Windows endpoint platform, guiding the team through deployment, management, security, and lifecycle of end-user computing services. You will drive strategy, modernization, and operational excellence for a hybrid workforce across the organization.

You will partner with Infrastructure, Security, Network, and Operations teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions and own OS upgrades, automation, and device lifecycle

Qualifications

  • 6+ years in IT engineering and 5+ years in enterprise desktop or end-user computing roles, including leadership.
  • Deep experience with Windows in large enterprise environments: OS deployment, imaging, lifecycle management.
  • Expert-level endpoint management with SCCM/MECM and Intune, including software distribution and patching.
  • Strong understanding of VDI/remote computing technologies and integration with endpoint environments.
  • Automation and scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) for zero-touch provisioning and config management.
  • Solid security and networking fundamentals for endpoints and enterprise networks.
  • Experience leading testing strategies, pilots, and vendor evaluations with data-driven decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

This role provides technical and people leadership for a team of engineers responsible for the design, deployment, management, security, and lifecycle of end-user computing services across the organization.The Manager drives the execution of the enterprise end-user computing strategy, ensuring Windows platforms remain secure, compliant, reliable, and aligned with business objectives. This role oversees engineering standards, operational processes, platform modernization initiatives, and service performance while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.Leading a distributed team of approximately 8-10 desktop engineers and technicians, the Manager is responsible for Windows endpoint management, device provisioning, operating system lifecycle management, and endpoint security capabilities. The role partners closely with Infrastructure, Information Security, Network, and Enterprise Operations teams to deliver scalable and resilient solutions that support a hybrid workforce.This leader is accountable for platform health, service quality, operational stability, and engineering execution.
