Description
JOB SUMMARY: The Windows Endpoint Systems Administrator is a key member of a team of knowledgeable professionals providing desktop technology support for the students, faculty, and staff of Gustavus Adolphus College. This individual supports Windows endpoints and campus printing services and works closely with their macOS counterpart to coordinate support, share coverage, and maintain secure and consistent practices across platforms. The selected individual will report to the Senior Director of Service Operations.
Employment Status: Full-Time (1.0 FTE), Exempt (Salaried), Benefits Eligible
Salary Range: $55,000-60,000 annually

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for Windows computers and other campus technologies, including hardware and software troubleshooting, device setup and deployment, data backup and restoration, and device replacement
- Serve as the primary User Services resource for Windows endpoints, working with Systems Administration and other technology teams to troubleshoot issues, deploy software, and support changes affecting campus technology
- Coordinate the lifecycle of Windows computers and related equipment, including deployment, refresh, replacement, inventory, asset management, purchasing, and licensing
- Partner closely with the Mac Desktop Systems Administrator to provide consistent desktop support across Windows and macOS, coordinate support practices and projects, share knowledge and coverage, and identify opportunities for common approaches
- Manage campus printing services, including multifunction printers (MFPs), end-user support, print-related troubleshooting, and coordination with the College's contracted printing vendor
- Develop and improve desktop support workflows through scripting, automation, service management tools, and other appropriate technologies
- Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge resources for end users, support staff, and cross-training
- Evaluate, test, and implement endpoint hardware, software, and other technology solutions in collaboration with User Services and specialized technology teams
- Provide technology guidance and training to end users and campus departments, and coordinate with other technology teams to resolve issues and meet campus needs
- Provide backup support for the Technology Helpline and assist with broader department needs as necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned
Prerequisites
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES, SKILLS, AND EXPERTISE:
- Demonstrated experience supporting and administering Windows endpoints, including operating system deployment, configuration, software distribution, and updates
- Working knowledge of endpoint management technologies such as Microsoft Intune or comparable tools
- Strong knowledge of desktop and mobile hardware, software, operating systems, and troubleshooting practices
- Interest in scripting, automation, or other tools used to streamline endpoint administration and support processes
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated initiative, follow-through, and attention to detail
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to work effectively with users of varying levels of technical expertise
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) and ticketing systems for tracking, managing, and documenting support requests
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear technical documentation and explain technical concepts to nontechnical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, share knowledge, and contribute to team-based and cross-platform initiatives
