e&e is seeking a Windows and Virtualization Infrastructure Systems Administrator for a hybrid contract opportunity in Harrisburg, PA!

The Windows and Virtualization Infrastructure Systems Administrator supports and maintains complex Intel-based server and virtualization environments, with a primary focus on Windows Server administration and enterprise virtualization platforms. This role ensures system performance, security, compliance, and availability while collaborating with IT teams to support infrastructure operations, projects, and disaster recovery initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
• Support Windows web services (IIS) and certificate implementation and renewal.
• Administer and maintain virtualization and VDI environments, ensuring stability, security, and compliance.
• Create and maintain standardized server images and templates aligned with STIG and security requirements.
• Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, incident response, and root cause analysis.
• Coordinate hardware, firmware, and operating system upgrades.
• Implement and support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support projects and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–10+ years of experience supporting Windows Server and virtualization environments.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and enterprise security practices.
• Experience supporting virtualized infrastructure and VDI platforms.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
• Strong technical communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Hyper-V, VMware ESXi, XenServer, or Nutanix.
• Familiarity with Nessus, antivirus platforms, and enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Rubrik).
• Experience with Azure Arc, Citrix, and Dell OpenManage.
• Industry-recognized system administration certification.
