Job summary

Kraft Group LLC in the United States is seeking a Winder Operator to tend the winding machine that rolls paper. You will monitor and regulate the speed, adjust tension, and inspect material to ensure quality while stopping the machine when splices are detected.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures.

• Makes adjustment(s) and threads up machine as required.
• Measure, space, set blades and cutters according to product specifications.
• Observe operation of machine to detect and correct malfunctions.
• Operates the Winder in accordance with job specifications.
• Guides rolls onto conveyor.
• Assist crew members and work in a team environment.
• Help meet or exceed production, waste and quality goals.
• Keep work area clean throughout shift.
• Assists in training new operators.
• Communicates all production/winder related information to next shift Winder or Shift Supervisor.
• Special projects and assignments as business dictates.

SUMMARY:

Winder operator tends the winding machine that rolls paper. Once the machine has started, you will need to monitor and regulate the speed of the winder to ensure even winding, adjust tension and examine material for quality and stops machine when splices reach the winder.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures
2. Sets up Winder with proper program for the order
3. Makes adjustment(s)and thread up machine as required
4. Measure, space, set blades and cutters, according to product specifications.
5. Observe operation of machine to detect and correct machine malfunctions.
6. Operates the Winder in accordance with job specifications
7. Guides rolls onto conveyor
8. Assist crew members and work in team environment
9. Help meet or exceed production, waste and quality goals.
10. Keep work area clean throughout shift
11. Assists in training new operators
12. Communicates all production/winder related information to next shift Winder or Shift Supervisor
13. Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
14. Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPPA.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Able to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, twisting, stooping

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Able to work in hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment.
• Willingness and ability to wear safety glasses, earplugs, hard hat, steel toed boots and any other required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
