Job summary

GE Vernova in the Wind Engineering division seeks an Availability & Reliability Engineer to turn turbine performance data into actionable reliability models and availability forecasts. This hardware-focused role informs design, maintenance, and service contracts to improve durability.

You will lead probabilistic modeling, data pipelines, and fleet-wide forecasting for LTSA risk, working with design engineering to set targets while optimizing inventory and spare parts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
• At least 3 years in an industrial setting, preferably wind energy or heavy machinery.
• At least 1 year applying probability and statistics to physical engineering systems.

Responsibilities

• Failure analysis of turbine unavailability and distinguishing root causes.
• Develop component-level reliability models for drivetrains, bearings and blades.
• Partner with design teams to set reliability targets and verify parts performance.
• Own data pipelines for statistical analysis and ensure high-fidelity reporting.
• Forecast spare part demand and balance inventory with return-to-service needs.
• Build fleet-wide availability forecasts to support LTSA and risk management.
• Model hardware performance lift from fleet retrofits or design changes.
