Job summary

ACCIONA Energía in Chicago seeks a Mechanical Engineer to improve wind turbine reliability, analyze failures, and support troubleshooting with maintenance and OEM teams.

You will review SCADA data, performance records, and maintenance procedures to drive reliability improvements, participate in RCA/FMEA, and mentor onsite technicians; travel is required; base pay $85,000–$105,000 with 10% bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and capability for problem solving.
• Strong written and oral communication; collaborative work style.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for operation and maintenance of utility-scale wind turbines.
• Analyze mechanical failures and equipment performance to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Evaluate turbine data, maintenance records, SCADA, and condition reports to improve asset performance.
• Support troubleshooting of major mechanical components (gearboxes, bearings, shafts, pitch/yaw, drivetrains, hydraulics).
• Develop recommendations to improve reliability and efficiency; implement modifications and fleet-wide improvements.
