Job summary

ACCIONA Energía, the world's largest 100% renewable energy company with no fossil legacy, seeks an experienced Maintenance Engineering Manager to lead our North American Wind Turbine Engineering Support and Major Corrective teams in Chicago.

You will drive reliability, performance, and long-term maintenance strategy for a growing portfolio, oversee budgeting and safety, and collaborate with procurement and external partners. This role requires travel up to 40% and a strong engineering background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of O&M experience at energy facilities; renewables preferred.
• Proven problem-solving with technical solutions.
• Experience managing maintenance activities and contracts.
• Strong safety and operational excellence.
• Willingness to travel up to 40%.
• Spanish language skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance engineering and the major corrective team.
• Forecast failures using monitoring systems to reduce downtime.
• Develop blade inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
• Monitor operating trends and implement solutions.
• Lead root cause analyses and remediation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and manufacturer requirements.
• Maintain documentation and training safety standards.
• Budget management for maintenance engineering.
• Prepare KPI and operating reports.
• Recruit and develop maintenance engineering personnel.
