Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a hands-on worker in Grand Forks, ND to perform the closing steps of wind turbine blade manufacturing.

The role involves crane-assisted handling of shells, finishing laminate defects, and preparing components for closure, all while adhering to safety requirements. Responsibilities include operating cranes, following work instructions, using hand and power tools, and maintaining strict PPE usage.

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.
• Wear respirator and PPE as required.
• Work well individually and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform closing tasks following work instructions.
• Wear all personal protective equipment and follow health and safety instructions regarding chemical usage.
• Remove shells from shells using crane.
• Transport shells between molds to closing area using crane.
• Repair, cut and grind laminate defects.
• Prepare shells for closure – vacuum debris, grind flange area, apply brackets, mark areas.
• Apply glue to flanges and web, crane operator lifts mold to close.
• After mould is closed, remove root plate and fasten root ring with bolts.
