Job summary

Invenergy is seeking a Wind Technician for the Goldthwaite Wind Energy Center in Goldthwaite, TX. You will operate and maintain GE wind turbines, perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance, climb towers, and troubleshoot faults.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of technical experience. The role requires outdoor work, lifting up to 45 kg, and a valid driver’s license with US work authorization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of technical experience or education in mechanical/electrical fields.
• Able to work outdoors in inclement weather and at heights > 80 meters (250 ft).
• Able to move up to 45 kg (100 lb) and body weight up to 120 kg (265 lb) excluding gear.
• Valid driver’s license and US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and related equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily with safety gear to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components.
• Maintain tooling, facilities and a clean safe work environment.
• Work a 40 hour work week with overtime during peak maintenance periods.

About The Site

The Goldthwaite Wind Energy Center is a 148.6 MW wind power generation facility located in Goldthwaite, TX. utilizing GE 1.7 MW and 2.5 MW ESS WTG turbine technology.

Position Overview

As a Wind Technician you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Goldthwaite Wind Energy site. Your primary work will be servicing and repairing wind turbines.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment
• Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods

Required Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet).
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
• Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job related tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Base Pay

$29.49 - $49.97 USD Hourly

Bonus: 0% - 10%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
