Job summary

Invenergy is seeking a Wind Technician for the Turkey Track Wind Energy Center in Blackwell, TX. You will operate and maintain GE wind turbines, performing routine mechanical and electrical tasks to support the site's reliability.

This safety sensitive role requires outdoor work in variable weather, tower climbs, and strict adherence to safety protocols. Base pay is hourly, with bonus opportunities and comprehensive benefits. This position offers hands-on wind energy operations experience.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• One year technical experience and/or technical education.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders, and work at heights (>80 meters).
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
• Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding gear.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

• Work a 40-hour week with possible overtime; schedule may vary during peak maintenance periods.

About The Site

The Turkey Track Wind Energy Center is a 169.5 MW wind power generation facility located in Blackwell, TX utilizing GE 1.5 SLE WTG turbine technology.

Position Overview

As a Wind Technician you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the wind turbines at the Turkey Track Wind Energy Center.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment


• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.


• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment


• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components


• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment


• Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods

Required Skills

• High school degree or equivalent


• One (1) year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.


• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet).


• Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).


• Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job related tasks.


• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.


• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Base Pay

$29.49 - $49.97 USD Hourly

Bonus: 0% - 10%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
