Job summary

Invenergy LLC is seeking a Wind Technician for the Gunsight Mountain Wind Energy Center in Big Spring, TX. You will operate and maintain GE wind turbines, climbing towers daily to inspect, repair, and ensure safe, reliable energy production.

The role requires outdoor work, climbing at heights, and handling heavy equipment, with a 40-hour week plus overtime during peak maintenance. Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of mechanical/electrical technical experience or training.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and at heights.
• Able to lift/move up to 45 kg (100 pounds) and weigh up to 120 kg.
• Valid driver's license and US work authorization.
• Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights over 80 meters.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and related equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily in safety gear to inspect/maintain or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of turbine components.
• Troubleshoot faults; repair or replace components.
• Maintain tooling, facilities and a clean safe work environment; schedule overtime.

About the Site

The Gunsight Mountain Wind Energy Center is a 120 MW wind power generation facility located in Big Spring, TX utilizing GE 1.7-100 WTG's turbine technology.

Position Overview

As a Wind Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Gunsight Mountain Wind Energy Center.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment
• Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods.

Required Skills

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• One (1) year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet).
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
• Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job related tasks.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Base Pay

Base Pay$29.49 - 49.97 USD Hourly Bonus: 0% - 10% The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
