Job summary

Invenergy, North America’s largest privately held developer, is seeking a Wind Technician for the Forward Wind Energy Center in Brownsville, WI. You will perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbines and related equipment, including climbing towers daily with safety gear.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one year of technical experience; you must be able to work outdoors in all weather, lift up to 100 pounds, and hold a valid driver’s

• 1 year of technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) or technical education.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and climb towers safely.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds (45 kg) and climb to heights.
• Valid driver’s license and eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair/replace components as needed.
• Maintain tooling, facilities and a clean, safe work environment.
• Work a 40-hour week with scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Wind Technician - On Site in Brownsville, WI

About The Site

The Forward Wind Energy Center is a 137.85MW wind power generation facility located in Brownsville, WI utilizing GE 1.5sle turbine technology

Position Overview

As a Wind Technician you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Forward Wind Energy Center.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment
• Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods

Required Skills

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• One (1) year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet).
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
• Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job related tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Base Pay

$29.49 - $49.97 USD Hourly

Bonus: 0% - 10%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
