Job summary

Flender, located in Elgin, IL, is seeking a Quality Inspector to focus on WIND aftermarket and Industrial drives. You will inspect mechanical components from disassembled units for rebuild/service on Wind Turbine and Industry units, and perform in-process and final inspections of finished products.

You will also assist with internal QA processes, root-cause analysis, and ensure documentation is ISO compliant while supporting production on quality issues.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting mechanical components, wind gear units preferred.
• Ability to analyze technical specifications and drawings.
• Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Familiarity with ISO, ANSI, DIN, and NEMA standards is helpful.
• Experience with NDT testing is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect main components of gearboxes and drive units.
• Define damages on inspected parts and determine disposition.
• Gather detailed evidence to justify disposition decisions.
• Prepare and interpret dimensional inspection reports.
• Create formal inspection reports documenting findings.
• Operate QA software tools and document results.
• Support project work to improve inspection efficiency.
• Maintain ISO-compliant documentation in QA records.
• Assist production with quality-related issues and priorities.
