Job summary

The University of North Dakota is seeking a part-time Dining Services Student Employee. The position is non-benefited and restricted to current UND students. Compensation is $15.00 per hour for 10–20 hours per week, with no overtime eligibility.

100% remote work is unavailable and on-campus presence is not required for this role. Responsibilities include maintaining dining room cleanliness, stocking supplies, sanitizing areas, spot cleaning, and adhering to safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods (3-4 hours).
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to handle and prepare meat products in a commercial kitchen.
  • Comply with all food safety and sanitation requirements including removal of jewelry and wearing a hairnet.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains dining room and assists with cleaning of service areas.
  • Stocks napkins, flatware, glassware, salt/pepper, and table media.
  • Sanitizes contact areas in dining rooms using approved cleaners.
  • Spot cleans glass and windows when required.
  • Follows Best Food Practices Safety Policies.
  • Uses and maintains equipment properly to complete tasks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

Salary/Position Classification
  • $15.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 10-20 hours per week
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No
Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintains Dining room/assist with Service Areas cleaning and appearance
  • Insures and stocks clean napkins, flatware, glassware, salt and peppers, and table media
  • Works with sanitizer chemical to sterilize contact areas in dining rooms.
  • Spot clean glass and windows when required.
  • Follows Best Food Practices Safety Policies
  • Correctly uses and maintains all equipment provided to complete tasks
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
