Job summary

Wisconsin Humane Society in Milwaukee, WI seeks a Wildlife Program Manager to lead our wildlife rehabilitation team at the Milwaukee Campus. This role oversees staff, interns, and volunteers, develops strategies, and ensures high standards of care for thousands of animals annually.

The manager reports to the VP of Operations and supports community guidance on coexistence with wildlife. The position requires Wisconsin wildlife rehab licensing considerations and a commitment to WHS values,

Qualifications

• Demonstrated team management experience.
• State of Wisconsin Advanced License in Wildlife Rehabilitation preferred; eligible.
• Experience with urban wildlife rehabilitation, small mammals and birds preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead wildlife rehabilitation staff, seasonal interns, and volunteers; drive staffing, scheduling, and development.
• Develop and execute strategic operating plan for the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.
• Communicate organizational direction and connect team to WHS values and priorities.
• Establish and monitor rehabilitation protocols for thousands of animals across species.
• Ensure community guidance on human-wildlife coexistence and intervention when needed.
• Oversee budget and collaborate with Marketing/Communication for community sharing.
