Job summary

Tacoma Public Utilities’ Tacoma Power seeks a Wildlife & Lands Manager to lead the Natural Resources team, directing habitat, shoreline and land management across hydro projects. You will supervise staff, oversee budgets, and coordinate with agencies to ensure FERC compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a relevant field and 5 years of experience with supervisory duties, plus a valid Washington driver’s license. Competitive salary and benefits available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a science field related to assignment is required.
  • Washington State Driver's License required.
  • Equivalency: 1 year of experience = 1 year of education.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and develop Wildlife and Lands staff.
  • Set staff and workgroup goals and monitor performance.
  • Develop and manage scopes, schedules, and budgets for projects.
  • Direct shoreline and land use planning for Tacoma hydro projects.
  • Support FERC license requirements including wildlife habitat and lands management.
  • Prepare maps, reports, and management plans for FERC license implementation.

Education

Bachelor's degree in biology, environmental science, forestry, resource management, archeology or other scientific field related to assignment
