Job summary

ZooTampa at Lowry Park is hiring a Part-Time Temporary Grounds Maintenance Technician to support maintenance and horticulture projects. The role involves operating equipment, completing work orders, and assisting with repairs across habitats and facilities.

The position is temporary with a projected end date of January 2, 2027, based in Tampa, FL. Candidates should have a high school diploma and relevant maintenance skills, with clear safety awareness and a proactive work ethic.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years related maintenance experience preferred.
• HVAC/electrical/carpentry/painting/plumbing knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses problems and performs repairs in habitats, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry and landscaping.
• Operates maintenance equipment including lull/tractor and a zero-turn mower.
• Completes work orders and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Assists vendors and escorts them during repairs as needed.
• Monitors and inspects golf carts, trailers, tools and horticulture equipment.
