Bureau of Land Management is accepting applications for a Biological Science Technician (Wildlife) in Ridgecrest, California. The position supports wildlife monitoring, habitat evaluation, and environmental reporting within a dynamic field team.

Qualified candidates will have a year of specialized experience or equivalent education in related fields and will work with GIS datasets, telemetry gear, GPS units, and remote cameras while leading seasonal crews under safety protocols.

Qualifications

• One full year of specialized experience at GS-06 level or equivalent.
• Experience in wildlife field surveys, habitat planning and NEPA-related reporting.
• Proficiency with GIS and spatial data management.

Responsabilités

• Conduct wildlife monitoring through field surveys and tracking.
• Assess habitats to plan restoration and protect wildlife corridors.
• Prepare environmental reports and preliminary biological assessments.
• Manage GIS datasets and mapping for wildlife programs.
• Inspect land uses for wildlife mitigation compliance.
• Lead seasonal field crews and ensure safety/data protocols.
