Job summary

Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance in Denver, CO, is seeking a Journeyman Carpenter to perform journeyman-level carpentry, woodworking and general maintenance to support animal care facilities and guest services.

This role requires 7+ years of non-licensed carpentry/maintenance experience, the ability to read manuals and blueprints, and strong safety and teamwork. You will estimate materials, build or repair structures, and coordinate with outside contractors as needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of general non-licensed carpentry/maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and work from manuals, blueprints, written and verbal instructions.
• Experience with locksmithing, all phases of commercial build and remodeling, stage design and/or custom fabrication desired.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Complete all assigned carpentry maintenance and fabrication to a journeyman-level standard.
• Estimate materials needed for various projects and cost out projects from start to finish.
• Constructs and repairs tables, benches, cabinets, counters, and furnishings; may build small structures or sheds.
• Repair or replace windows, doors, locks and repairs to ceilings, walls or floor coverings as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings; coordinate with others as needed.
