Job summary

The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation is seeking a Program Supervisor – Unit Fire Management Officer for the Stillwater Unit. You will plan, direct, and analyze fire-management programs within the assigned area, coordinating resources and providing guidance to cooperators.

The role includes supervising staff, delivering training, and ensuring readiness for fire prevention, suppression, and forest-management activities.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in forestry, fire management/suppression or a related field.
• Five years of experience including Incident Command System (ICS) training and related fire program management.
• Two years of supervisory experience; ability to attain ICS certification Type 3 on hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct unit-wide fire management programs and budgets.
• Coordinate resources and supervise staff in fire prevention, planning, and suppression.
• Provide guidance to cooperating agencies and oversee training.
