Job summary

Lane Community College is seeking an instructor for the Wildland Fire Management Certificate Program on a part-time, contracted basis beginning September 2026. The role involves delivering NWGC coursework, both in-person on Main Campus and online, and supporting diverse student cohorts.

Applicants should bring strong fire management knowledge and relevant certifications; a criminal background check is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Fire Science, or related discipline from regionally accredited institution.
• Demonstrated fireline experience on fires of moderate to high severity.
• NWGC course training with performance on a management team.
• Master's degree in Natural Resource Management or related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support student learning through curriculum delivery and classroom activities.
• Provide high-quality classroom instruction and develop course materials; deliver online and in-person teaching.
• Engage in online teaching with Regular Substantive Interaction (RSI) and student coaching.
• Promote equity, inclusion, and diversity in curricula and student interactions.
