Treasure Valley Community College seeks a Wildland Fire Instructor to lead the AAS in Wildland Fire Management and NWCG-aligned certificate courses. The role includes building a dual-credit pipeline with regional high schools and coordinating partnerships with federal, state, and private fire agencies.

The instructor will teach courses in-person, hybrid, and online, maintain safety standards, and contribute to curriculum development and program growth through collaboration with local agencies

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Wildland Fire, Natural Resources, Fire Ecology, Forestry, Rangeland Management, or a closely related field.
• Qualified Single Resource Boss/FFTI and Firefighter Type 1, OR Task Force/Strike Team Leader.
• Must maintain current wildland fire qualifications.
• Knowledge and skills to use educational technology such as Canvas, video streaming, interactive videos, and mobile applications and devices.
• Valid driver’s license, and ability to drive college vehicles and travel regularly to regional high schools and field sites.

Responsabilidades

• Teach Wildland Fire courses in person, hybrid, and online, including listed NWCG standards.
• Deliver hybrid dual credit courses with partner high schools: Canvas coursework plus field days.
• Align curriculum and learning outcomes with NWCG standards and establish agency-specific course equivalency.
• Recruit and advise students and participate in retention efforts.
• Develop, coordinate, and teach the annual Fire Academy with local wildland fire agencies.
• Build career pathways and transfer options with high schools, universities, and agency partners.
• Work with the Center for Business, Workforce and Community Learning to serve the existing workforce.
• Maintain and supervise program equipment and ensure safe classroom and field practices.
• Prepare syllabi, articulate objectives, and incorporate current classroom technology.
• Evaluate student progress and maintain records and grading on schedule.
• Maintain office hours, serve on committees, and participate in faculty meetings.
• Follow college policies and work with diverse backgrounds.
