Job summary

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services seeks a Wildland Fire Dispatcher to coordinate emergency response, dispatch crews and manage communications in a dynamic field setting.

Responsibilities include operating radio, computer, and telephone systems, delivering weather and incident updates, and ensuring compliance with burn and safety protocols. Residency within 30 miles of Bryceville required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 1 year experience in radio-teletype operations, dispatching, firefighting or related public contact work.
• College education may substitute 30 semester/45 quarter hours for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch fire crews, supervisors, pilots and law enforcement to wildfires and incidents using radio/phone.
• Monitor wildfire status and coordinate with state, federal and local agencies.
