The Washoe Tribe of Nevada & California seeks a Captain - Engine Boss to lead and supervise a wildland firefighting crew, coordinate training, and maintain equipment readiness. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• At least four (4) years of fire suppression experience.
• NWCG Wildland Red Card certification.
• Valid state Class “B” driver’s license with “F” endorsement.
• First aid/CPR or higher certification.
• S-212 Wildland chainsaw certification.

Responsabilités

• Supervises and directs the assigned crew while on duty.
• Evaluates and counsels assigned personnel as needed.
• Inspects vehicles and equipment for operational readiness and coordinates maintenance.
• Inspects personnel and maintains discipline.
• Responds to incidents and makes decisions on fire suppression and tactics.
• Gathers information and reports to overhead resources.
• Supervises wildfire suppression duties and coordinates training.
