Job summary

The Tolowa Dee-ni' Nation is seeking a Fire Apparatus Operator (ENOP) in Smith River, CA. The role involves assisting the Engine Captain in fire suppression, operating heavy apparatus, and maintaining engine fleets.

The ideal candidate must be qualified with a valid Incident Qualification Card and possess wildland fire experience. Commitment to protecting Tribal lands and cultural values is essential. This is a full-time position subject to seasonal layoffs.

Qualifications

• Qualified as an Engine Operator (ENOP) with a valid Incident Qualification Card (Red Card).
• Three seasons of wildland fire experience (18 months).
• Certification in First Aid and CPR within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the high-readiness of fire suppression resources.
• Manage all on-scene operations and crew welfare.
• Communicate effectively with federal, state, and local fire agencies.
