Job summary

US Office of the Secretary of the Interior is seeking a Senior fire management professional in Oregon to serve as a Supervisory Fire Engine Operator within the Interagency Fire Program Management framework. The position requires prior wildland firefighting experience and adherence to MEA age restrictions and documentation requirements for veterans and applicants.

Applicants must meet minimum NWCG Red Card qualifications (ENGB, ICT5, S-211) and demonstrate ability to manage wildland fire

Qualifications

• Selective Placement factor requires NWCG Red Card qualifications ENGB, ICT5, S-211 Portable Pumps.
• Minimum qualification includes GW-0456-08 and specialized experience in fire control, prevention or suppression.
• Experience leading wildland fire activities and developing initial attack strategies are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead wildland fire activities to ensure resource objectives are met from a fire management standpoint.
• Develop and implement initial attack incident management strategies and tactics.
• Apply mitigation measures to protect habitats, endangered species, and cultural values.
