Job summary

Utah Department of Natural Resources is seeking a Fire Technician IV for an Engine Crew Supervisor role in Central Utah. The position oversees a Type 3/4 engine, supports wildland firefighting, and coordinates crew staffing and training in Sanpete County.

The role requires ENGB and ICT5 qualifications, a CDL with Tanker endorsement, and the ability to perform demanding field work with travel and camping as needed.

Qualifications

• Qualified Engine Boss (ENGB).
• Qualified Incident Commander Type 5 (ICT5).
• Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement (ability to obtain).
• Pass the Arduous Work Capacity Test.
• Qualified Faller 3.

Responsibilities

• Supervise personnel, delegate workload, train and evaluate performance.
• Schedule staffing, manage unit operations, and track expenditures.
• Drive, operate and perform preventive maintenance on the engine.
• Provide fuels mitigation work and wildfire response under direction.
