Responsibilities

• Serves as a member of a forest fire suppression crew in a defined area.
• Loads/unloads firefighting equipment and maintains gear.
• Maintains work centers and assists in maintenance of equipment.
• Constructs and maintains fire breaks and clears lines.
• Assists in timber marking and forest resource management tasks.
• Performs duties under supervision of a Forester; may receive direction from a Forestry Technician.
• Assists in information and education programs related to fire safety.
• Uses county maps and dispatch directions to locate tracts; performs related duties.
