Forest Ranger I in the Oklahoma Forestry Service is a full-time state government position based in Colcord, OK. The role supports suppression and mitigation of wildfires, operates firefighting equipment, and performs forestry-related tasks in hazardous conditions.

This on-site posting requires proximity to hiring points and readiness for field duties. Selected candidates will be outdoors about 90% of the time, may travel up to 75% during fire season, and receive a comprehensive benefits package

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of farm equipment or heavy equipment operation, forestry-related work, or fire prevention and suppression work.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and basic GIS skills for fire reporting.
• Ability to write reports and emails; safety-focused and able to work in hazardous environments.

Responsabilités

• Engage in initial and extended wildland fire suppression and related activities.
• Use GIS to collect wildland fire data and report outcomes.
• Prepare and submit fire activity reports for state and national systems.
