Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of experience in strategic planning, setting strategies at the department or organization level.
  • Five or more years of experience leading complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives with significant operational, regulatory, financial, or public safety implications.
  • Experience planning, and executing electric utility wildfire mitigation strategies, grid operations, PSPS protocols, and the operational tradeoffs involved in reducing wildfire and customer impact risk.
  • Experience preparing materials for executive audiences, regulatory filings, testimony, or public-facing submissions.
  • Demonstrable understanding of risk frameworks, assessments, and tradeoffs
  • Ability to synthesize complex technical, regulatory, and financial information into clear decision-support materials.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development of critical regulatory and legislative initiatives to facilitate the execution of the strategic plan.
  • Identifies system risks and evaluates risk reduction benefits of proposed mitigation strategy projects in the capital investment strategy.
  • Leads the development and management of Protection and Control Asset strategies for programmatic investment decisions.
  • Evaluates SCE's enterprise level risks and provides suitable mitigation options to senior management.
  • Provides strategic and regulatory analysis for the company, specifically including competitive positioning, price forecasting, financial analytics, and regulatory planning scenario evaluations.
  • Provides analyses, evaluation and management recommendations on key strategic initiatives.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Become a Wildfire Operational Strategies Senior Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll play a central role in shaping enterprise-level wildfire risk reduction, PSPS risk mitigation, regulatory commitments, and enterprise decision-making. A key focus of this role will be advancing wildfire mitigation strategy, including guiding execution of grid hardening initiatives that reduce wildfire and PSPS risks and helping integrate multiple mitigation approaches into the most effective overall strategy. The Senior Advisor will also serve as a wildfire subject matter expert, supporting cross-functional workstreams and regulatory efforts, including the General Rate Case, Wildfire Mitigation Plan, and related filings. As a Wildfire Operational Strategies Senior Advisor, your work will help shape how SCE reduces wildfire and PSPS risk while supporting safe, reliable, and affordable service for customers. Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Five or more years of experience leading complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives with significant operational, regulatory, financial, or public safety implications.
  • Demonstrated experience planning, and executing electric utility wildfire mitigation strategies, grid operations, PSPS protocols, and the operational tradeoffs involved in reducing wildfire and customer impact risk.
  • Experience preparing materials for executive audiences, regulatory filings, testimony, or public-facing submissions.
  • Demonstrable understanding of risk frameworks, assessments, and tradeoffs
  • Ability to synthesize complex technical, operational, regulatory, and financial information into clear decision-support materials.
Additional Information
  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
