Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking a Safety Governance Senior Advisor to develop and maintain plans, processes, and approaches aligning safety governance to drive transformation of safety culture. The role builds partnerships, supports governance teams, and provides resources to influencers across Edison to improve operations and risk management.

In this job, you’ll develop and maintain plans, processes, and approaches to align safety governance entities to actively support the transformation of SCE's safety culture, facilitate communication amongst governance teams, and provide support and tools for their efforts. A big part of your job will be to establish and maintain partnerships, relationship building, and provide resources to safety teams, congresses, councils, as we help them grow and develop. You will also provide information and resources to influencers across Edison to understand operations, needs, and leading practices. As a Safety Governance Senior Advisor, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Responsibilities

• Provides input to safety policy development and implements safety policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Creates safety training programs for employees to ensure a safe working environment and works with leaders to ensure compliance with regulations and alignment with company expectations.
• Collaborates with leaders, staff, and contractors at all levels to implement effective solutions, oversees the ongoing cycle of risk management efforts.
• Maintains thorough knowledge of current and emerging legislation, regulations and trends related to EHS.
• Provides oversight of incident investigations and corrective actions and ensures adequate corrective measures are implemented to prevent a recurrence.
• Leads, facilitates and implements project hazard analysis and risk assessment process across the company
• Conducts training and presentations for EHS matters and accident prevention.
• Provides oversight and guidance related to hazard identification and risk mitigation.
• Serves in an emergency response role as part of the Company’s Incident Management Team in supporting crisis response. This role requires periodic on-call reporting during the day, night, and weekends as emergencies arise.
• A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ten or more years of experience in leading and developing health and safety compliance programs, activities and systems.
• Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in business administration, communications, organizational behavior, or related discipline.
• Experience developing project and/or business plans and work processes
• Experience developing presentations to communicate with various audiences and leading project and/or program teams
• Strong oral and written communication skills as well as strong business planning and organization skills

Additional Information

• This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
