Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a WCC Management Specialist to oversee the Wildfire Command Center, set schedules, train staff, and coordinate with PSPS, Meteorological, Investigations, Public Safety, Liaisons and communications teams. The role focuses on monitoring wildfire activity, threat levels, and data to support leadership decisions.

You will develop SOPs, support EOC/IMT operations, and provide real‑time wildfire information to leadership and partners for proactive planning and response.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in emergency or disaster management or related field or equivalent education and experience.
• 8+ years of experience in incident or emergency management.
• Knowledge of NIMS, ICS, EOC and IMT operations.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop partnerships with emergency management and wildfire partners.
• Train company personnel on WCC operations and emergency management concepts.
• Monitor wildfire information and identify knowledge gaps for situational awareness.
• Provide oversight of training for staff assigned to incident management positions.
• Plan and coordinate Wildfire Mitigation and Response program activities.
• Maintain familiarity with specialized software, tools and processes.
• Develop and maintain Wildfire/WCC plans, playbooks, SOPs and job aids.
