Job summary

Xcel Energy Services Inc. seeks an experienced project leader to manage end-to-end interdisciplinary wildfire meteorology and fire science initiatives. You will oversee initiation, scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risk across multiple streams to deliver modeling, infrastructure, and operational outcomes.

The role requires coordinating finance, compliance and stakeholder expectations while driving innovation and ensuring on‑time delivery and value realization for critical programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years work experience in operations, technology, finance, or comparable function; utility experience preferred.
• BS Engineering, Construction, Business, Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10 years' experience in project management and process improvement; project management certification preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate, train, lead and influence others, and adapt to change quickly.
• Experience with providing work direction to diverse/distributed work.
• Understanding of core business processes/industry trends with ability to interpret/apply ongoing changes.
• Vendor/contract management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Financial Management: manage project financials, budgeting, forecasting, actuals tracking, cost/benefit analysis and vendor contracting.
• Project Planning: lead requirements gathering, develop business cases, secure approvals, define deliverables and milestones.
• Project Management: ensure delivery of benefits and metrics; maintain status reporting and risk mitigation.
• Resource Management: forecast, schedule, and manage internal and external resources, contracts, and payments.
• Scope & Risk Management: manage scope changes, identify risks, and develop mitigation plans.
• Relationship Management: communicate status to stakeholders and align across teams.
• Regulatory Support: maintain documentation for audits, compliance, and governance.
