Job summary

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a part-time Wild Toledo Restoration Technician to support habitat restoration across diverse sites, including the campus and off-site locations in NW Ohio and SE Michigan. You will contribute to restoration initiatives spanning prairies, woodlands, and wetlands while gaining hands-on field experience.

Applicants should be 18+, hold a valid driver's license, and demonstrate willingness to travel and work on weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Must possess a valid drivers’ license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.
• Preference will be given to current biology students as well as those with degrees in the field.
• Ability to work in regular field conditions that may include heat, humidity, rain, insect bites, and stings.
• Traveling to various locations throughout the NW Ohio and SE Michigan Areas
• Some minimal travel over an hour away in a day.
• Some weekend work required
• The Toledo Zoo is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana.

• Restoration sites span a variety of habitats such as prairies, woodlands, and wetlands.
• Locations include the Toledo Zoo campus as well as numerous off-site locations in both urban and rural settings including municipalities, schools, corporate campuses, and private residences.

Our Conservation department is currently seeking a Part- Time Restoration Technician who is passionate about learning new things and giving our guests the best possible experience.

Under limited supervision, the Wild Toledo Restoration Technician will perform a variety of duties related to the operation of Wild Toledo’s native habitat restoration initiatives. Minimum Training and Experience
