Job summary

Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis seeks a Wig and Wardrobe Technician to support wigs, makeup, and costumes across rehearsals and performances. The role involves prepping for tech, assisting with fittings, and ensuring smooth quick changes for actors within a dynamic theater schedule.

The position requires experience with wig and wardrobe maintenance, basic sewing, and teamwork in a busy, performance-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a Wig or Wardrobe Technician or equivalent.
• Skill in wig, facial hair and makeup application.
• Skill in basic hair styling.
• Skill in basic sewing and costume crafts techniques.
• Knowledge of theatrical terminology to understand direction and location.
• Knowledge of the technical rehearsal process and production process.

Responsibilities

• Assist with load in of costumes and wigs before tech begins.
• Attend wig fittings and makeup sessions during tech prep week.
• Prepare wigs, facial hair and makeup for quick changes.
• Assist actors with wardrobe and quick changes during performances.
• Maintain and repair wigs, costumes and accessories as needed.
• Deliver and store wigs and costumes for show storage and end-of-shift drop-offs.
• Communicate daily wardrobe needs and notes for show reports.
• Ensure safety and ergonomic practices across all wardrobe tasks.
