Job summary

Playbill, Inc. is seeking a Wardrobe Supervisor to oversee all costume operations for performances, rehearsals, and events. You will supervise wardrobe staff, coordinate quick changes, conduct pre-show checks, and ensure costumes are ready for each cast member in live productions.

You will maintain inventories, logs, and safety practices, collaborate with Management and Production, and support post-show recovery and maintenance across the venue’s backstage areas.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in theatrical wardrobe supervision or related.
• Ability to troubleshoot wardrobe issues with other departments.
• Experience managing a run crew and daywork crew.
• Strong knowledge of costume construction, alterations, repairs, fabric care, and garment maintenance.
• Experience tracking costumes, laundry schedules, and wardrobe inventories.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all wardrobe operations for performances, rehearsals, special events, and technical rehearsals.
• Conduct pre-show costume checks and ensure all costumes and accessories are performance-ready.
• Oversee costume presets, quick changes, and post-show costume recovery procedures.
• Troubleshoot wardrobe and costume-related issues and communicate with Management and Production as needed.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and inventory of all costumes, accessories, and wardrobe workspaces.
• Perform or coordinate costume repairs, alterations, laundering, steaming, and maintenance as needed.
• Maintain detailed costume tracking, maintenance logs, laundry schedules, and inventory documentation.
• Coordinate with General Management to ensure costumes are built and performance ready for new cast members.
• Attend and participate in technical rehearsals, crew calls, technical notes sessions, and performances as needed.
• Coordinate wardrobe staffing schedules and produce payroll for the wardrobe team per the timeline established by Company Management.
• Assist with maintaining production standards and continuity of costume presentation throughout the run.
• Advocate for and participate in all safety plans defined by the Production Team and Management.
