Job summary

South Carolina Department of Public Health seeks a WIC Program Manager to direct local agency operations, oversee clinical services for women, infants, and children, and ensure regulatory compliance across budgets and staff. This role leads QA and performance improvement while coordinating with state support services and other health programs.

The position requires strong program management experience, fiscal oversight, and the ability to mentor staff and navigate federal/state policy changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and relevant program management experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Five years of WIC experience with two years in a supervisory role or program management, or a Master's with three years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the WIC program at the local agency level.
• Oversee clinical services for women, infants, and children aged birth to 5 years; supervise staff and budgets.
• Direct expenditures of WIC funds ensuring compliance with regulations; monitor program operations and reports.
• Provide mentoring and development for staff; participate in quality improvement and policy updates.
• Collaborate with other programs within the agency to ensure comprehensive health services.
• Lead development and monitoring of the agency’s Public Health Plan and regional collaboration.
