Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office or 1 year in a WIC setting preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English and another language.
• Basic arithmetic skills required.
• No licensure/certification required.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients/visitors and maintain a courteous, professional attitude.
• Answer phones; handle information requests, rescheduling, and other duties.
• Explain WIC services, benefits, and policies to clients.
• Assist with certifying WIC applicants and entering data into CT-WIC.
• Assign and replace eWIC cards per state guidelines.
• Ensure eligibility by following federal/state guidelines.
• Schedule appointments for nutrition education and certifications.
• Provide WIC benefits and distribute necessary paperwork to clients.
• Maintain participant confidentiality and accurate record-keeping.
• Support outreach activities and participate in trainings.
