Job summary

Denton County is seeking an Assistant WIC Director to supervise staff and help steer the Women, Infants, and Children program. The role involves coordinating services with health and human services agencies, and ensuring compliance with guidelines.

You will develop and implement policies, provide nutrition education, handle lab work, and manage reporting and purchasing processes. Travel to Denton County WIC clinics is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field; five years of related experience required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license; able to obtain Texas license within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise employees; schedules and coordinates clinic employees and clients; interviews and trains new employees.
  • Provides nutrition education to clients and provides referrals as necessary.
  • Performs lab work for clients; analyzes results and makes recommendations.
  • Teaches nutrition and breastfeeding to clients and issues breast pumps as necessary.
  • Prepares and submits accounting and financial reports and records as required by oversight agencies.
  • Compiles and consolidates purchase requests; tracks items until received.
  • Assists in planning, developing, implementing and maintaining WIC policies and procedures.
  • Resolves problems in non-routine situations with subordinates; coordinates with State Agency and local offices.
  • Reviews time sheets and enforces new policies; ensures attendance.
