Job summary

Sea Mar Community Health Centers seeks a WIC Coordinator to oversee the WIC Program and provide nutrition services and support to patients and clients. The role emphasizes leadership, coordination with the MSS Program, and ongoing staff education.

You will supervise WIC Nutritionists and Clerks, participate in quality improvement activities, and collaborate with county, state, and Sea Mar departments to promote nutrition services and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Preferably a degree in nutrition from an accredited college or university; RD credentials may be required.
• Experience with the WIC Program and multicultural populations required.
• Must maintain RD and CD credentials (as applicable).
• Educational requirement may be waived for someone with a minimum 3 years of direct experience as a WIC supervisor on the recommendation of the WIC Program Director and approval by the Executive Director or Executive Vice President.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate WIC Program; reporting, data gathering, maintenance of program files and records, monthly statistics, and the writing of the Nutritional Education Plan, Breastfeeding Grant, and annual WIC Expenditures Report.
• Provide nutrition consultations, in-services and continuing education opportunities to Nutrition Department staff and Sea Mar staff.
• Plan, implement and evaluate nutrition services provided by the WIC/Nutrition Department and coordinate with the MSS Program.
• Supervise WIC staff and conduct regular staff meetings; act as liaison for nutrition staff to management and state nutrition staff.
