Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, Inc. is hiring a Nutritionist II CPA to assess and educate High Risk WIC participants.

You will work with Qualified Nutritionists, issue food packages, and provide individualized nutrition education and breastfeeding support across Brooklyn and Queens. The role requires bilingual capabilities, travel across the five boroughs, and willingness to work extended hours including early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or DTR or health-related field with nutrition credits; RN with BSN or WIC CPA experience.
• Bilingual required; travel across five boroughs and extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess, counsel and educate High Risk participants needing nutrition expertise.
• Promote breastfeeding as the preferred infant feeding method.
• Issue food packages and document follow-up.
• Provide participant-centered nutrition education (individual/family sessions and group discussions).
• Provide referrals to health and social services and document follow-up.
• Identify High Risk participants and consult with Qualified Nutritionist (QN).
• Plan and evaluate participant-centered nutrition education.
• Conduct a complete nutrition assessment, determine program eligibility and enroll participants.
• Conduct breastfeeding assessment and counseling to initiate and continue breastfeeding.
• Address breastfeeding concerns and issue breast pumps.
• Tailor food packages, obtain signatures for benefit issuance, review benefits and add to WIC account.
• Update/close participant care plans and track progress.
• Refer participants to QN when beyond scope.
