Job summary

Day Kimball Health is seeking a WIC Nutritionist for the Willimantic, CT area. The role focuses on nutrition education, referrals, and independent judgment when advising families on services.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in foods and nutrition and two years of relevant experience, with ACEND supervision or a master’s in nutrition education acceptable for one year of work. This on-site position includes benefits and shift differential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in foods and nutrition or closely related field with two years of nutrition experience in health settings.
• ACEND-accredited supervised practice or master's degree in nutrition education may count for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Counsels groups and individuals on nutrition and is the nutritional spokesperson for the local WIC agency.
• Assists in breastfeeding education and nutrition education programs for the agency.
• Develops and implements nutrition plans and evaluates high risk participants.
• Participates in the annual WIC plan development to meet federal and state guidelines.
