Job summary

Optimus Health Care, the largest provider of primary health care services in Fairfield County, seeks a Full Time WIC Nutritionist in Waterbury, CT. You will conduct nutrition assessments, provide education and breastfeeding support, and ensure accurate CT-WIC data entry within a team-focused, patient-centered setting.

The role requires a Bachelor's in nutrition and relevant experience, with a chance to contribute to state program goals, while working across multiple locations supporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition or related field with two years of nutrition experience in a health setting.
• CAADE accredited supervised practice or Master’s in nutrition education can substitute for required experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct WIC nutrition assessment and determine nutritional risk; develop and follow up on care plans for high-risk participants.
• Provide nutrition education, counseling, and breastfeeding support.
• Enter data into CT-WIC computer program accurately and maintain participant records.
• Assist in meeting state and local agency objectives and participate in required trainings.
