Job summary

SEMHA is seeking a Part-Time WIC Eligibility Assistant to support the Wayne County WIC offices. You will determine client eligibility, document findings, maintain confidential records, and work with the WIC team on nutrition services and outreach.

The role includes completing assessments, providing nutrition education (including breastfeeding support), making referrals, and traveling to several county clinics. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Sciences or related field or DTR certification.
• Bilingual ability is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist WIC dietitian by determining client eligibility.
• Document activities and maintain confidential client records.
• Perform nutrition assessments and eligibility determinations.
• Provide nutrition education including breastfeeding support.
• Refer clients to health, social, or nutrition services as needed.
• Travel to Wayne County WIC clinics as required.
