Job summary

Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa County is seeking a Nutrition Educator to perform public health nutrition work within WIC and the Okaloosa County Health Department. You will certify clients for WIC participation and enter notes in the Florida-Wise EMR using SOAP formats for high-risk care plans.

You will collect anthropometric and dietary data, assign WIC benefits and Nutritionals, distribute Farmer’s Market Coupons, participate in outreach events, and ensure follow-up per policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree from a U.S accredited university or college in nutritional science, community nutrition, clinical nutrition, dietetics, and/or public health nutrition required in accordance with Chapter 21M, Sections 48.001, 48.002, 48.003, Florida Administrative Code.
• Valid U.S. Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Performs professional public health nutrition work within the WIC program and Okaloosa County Health Department.
• Certifies clients for participation in the WIC program and documents in the Florida-Wise EMR using SOAP notes for high-risk care plans.
• Collects anthropometric, hematological, dietary and medical data on women, infants and children; assigns WIC benefits and distributes Nutritionals.
• Participates in quality assurance audits and outreach events; ensures efficient clinic flow and appropriate follow-up.
